New-and-Improved Statistical Reports

I modified the 5-on-5 statistical reports for 2008-09 so that they're vastly easier to use. There are four reports:

Corsi Report
Quality of Competition Report
Goal-Scoring Report
Penalties Drawn/Taken Report

Let me know what you think!

The CorsiRel is a very, very useful addition.

Thank you!
I heart you Gabe.

Yeah, Sunny, that Corsi Rel was at your urging...It only took me six months to write 20 lines of code...
Haha, better late than never though.

I think it's really helpful to have a stat that quickly identifies the guys like Mark Streit who seem to create a completely different territorial environment when they're on the ice relative to when the rest of their team is on the ice. It seems pretty significant.

Of course, the usual caveats seem to apply as well. Players will benefit from having good linemates. (Note the entire Ryan-Getzlaf-Perry line near the top, as well as Langenbrunner being fairly high from playing with Parise all season.) So it still might be tough to discern who's driving the bus in all situations, and by how much.

Also, players might be hurt by having good teammates (non-linemates) because the off-ice number will be higher. (It makes me cringe a little to see Datsyuk at 45th on the list.)

All in all, really good stuff though.
Sunny: don't forget the O-Zone/D-Zone faceoffs splits; that corsi adjusted to zonestart jlikens published the other day is looking better by the minute.
Streit somehow managed to have 92 more starting offensive zone draws than defensive zone draws at EV, which was far and away the most advantageous zonestart among all Islanders that played significant minutes last season.

Not surprisingly, he had the best corsi on the team.

In terms of adjusted corsi, however, he ranks only 7th on his team (out of 26 regulars). That's still good, but not nearly as impressive.
